Asian stocks follow US lower - Europe next?

Asian shares slump on Tuesday after increased concerns of a global economic slowdown sent Wall Street to sliding to yearly lows.

Chinese President Xi Jinping added to the drop in sentiment as he failed to mention any new trade initiative with the US in a speech marking 40 years since China introduced major economic reform, this is despite recent news reports on a reduction in car tariffs, increased soybean imports and even mention of potential tax cuts. The MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan dropped -0.9%, whilst in Japan itself the Nikkei lost -1.82% to hit its lowest level since late March.
